 A Renter's insurance policy protects your belongings
and
furniture
when you live in a dwelling that you do not own, against perils such as fire, smoke, windstorm and hail,
building collapse, explosion, theft, vandalism, and water or electrical
damage.
Similar to a Homeowner policy, a Renter's policy also protects your
personal property even when you are not at home. Additional
living expenses are also covered if your dwelling should become
temporarily uninhabitable. You will also have Personal Liability
Protection--you will be covered in the event that you become liable
for injury or damage to someone else's property. You will also be
covered for medical expenses as a result of injuries to others on or off
your premises, and any resulting legal fees, up to the limits of the
policy, will be covered regardless of your liability.
